Dressmaker hands you a shop, a sewing machine and a town full of people with opinions about sleeves. The game tells you what each client wants in a single line — "Quality: 80, Eveningwear: 60" — and then leaves you to work out which of 155 dress pieces and 348 fabrics gets you there. This site exists to answer that question without a spreadsheet.

What This Site Is

A reference for Dressmaker (Cozy Lives, published by Free Lives), released on Steam on 21 September 2026. It is unofficial and written by players.

Four things are covered in depth. The commission list gives every story and pigeon commission with its budget, its requirement lines exactly as the game words them, and what it pays out. The pattern reference covers dress pieces by bodice, skirt, sleeve and collar, with the friendship level or shop rank that unlocks each one. The fabric and trim references list style tag weights and real shop prices. The quality guide explains the mechanics that decide whether a dress clears its requirement.

How Values Are Checked

Values on this site are read from the released Steam build and checked against the game's own on-screen numbers. Commission thresholds, fabric prices, unlock conditions and achievement unlock chains are verified rather than estimated.

Two things follow from that. First, when the game updates, a value here can go stale — every page carries the build it was last checked against, and pages are re-checked after patches. Second, where a number could not be confirmed it is left out rather than guessed at. A missing value is a gap; a wrong one is a player wasting fabric.

The site's own writing, structure and tools are ours. The game's values are the game's, and belong to Cozy Lives and Free Lives.

What Is Not Covered

Two things are deliberately absent. Individual pages for every fabric, accessory or dress piece: they exist as searchable rows in the reference tables, which is faster to use than 800 near identical pages. And the puzzle of maximising a dress's final star rating down to the last decimal: the game's own in-game preview is the authoritative source for a specific dress, and it updates live as you change swatches.

The early-access itch.io prototype (0.5.5) is a different build with different rules. Values here describe the released Steam version; if you are playing the prototype, treat anything about tag scoring, customer patience or buying as unverified.
